Research support A critical resource available to Biomedica is access to faculty and staff, core facilities and cutting-edge technology of the State of New York University (SUNY) and the University of Maryland (UMBC and UMB). In addition. Biomedica interfaces with 3 expert networks: 1) The Clinical Network, 2) Research Network and 3) Clinical and Non-clinical laboratory services.Access to these network and its facilities core facilities enables Biomedica to incorporate cutting-edge infrastructure and technologies into its support services that respond effectively to a wide range of needs, ranging from life shelf evaluation of drugs to chemical synthesis, and clinical research support, without the expensive capital outlays that would be needed to acquire, operate, and maintain state-of -the art resources. These services include: Animal facilities, clinical laboratory services, research laboratory support, combinatorial chemistry and organic synthesis. We support preclinical research in most animal models, and provide scientific expertise, and cutting-edge equipment for any technology, therapeutic class or disease category. Biomedica's unique assembly of specialized experts includes senior scientists in the following fields: Trauma, epidemiology, hematology and transplantation, cancer, infectious diseases, metabolic genetic diseases, cardiovascular diseases, endocrinology and diabetes, reproductive technologies, allergy and asthma, dermatology , gastroenterology and neurology. If you need to: Biomedica has the capability of providing any of these services under a sole-source, an 8(a) competitive or Small Business contract. We can find the expert or resource you need by targeting researchers with relevant expertise. "The kind of far reaching progress anticipated for biomedical research in the 21st century will require collaboration among several sectors; partnerships among researchers and business partners who could benefit from these opportunities.Yet few NIH supported researchers and potential partners who could benefit from these opportunities are aware of them "( NIH Roadmap) Biomedica's mission is to provide the mechanisms that will enable such partnership. |
