Studies on Ischemia/Reperfusion in the the liver indicate that Neutrolide, a small molecule selectin blocker, has a significant protective effect against ischemic damage following reperfusion. We conducted studies for the use of neutrolide in conjunction with resuscitation fluids to prevent Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome(SIRS) and organ failure following resuscitation of patients under hypovolemic shock.
